How are priorities determined for our waiting list?
We prioritize our waiting list based on three key criteria to ensure fairness and accommodate the needs of our families: 1. Current Enrollment: Families with children already enrolled in our center receive the highest priority. This ensures that those who are actively participating in our programs have continued access to necessary services. 2. Child’s Age: The child's age plays a significant role in the allocation of space. We consider each program's age requirements to ensure we offer quality service while always respecting the ratios. 3. Family Schedule: This consideration helps us find the best fit for both the family and the program, ensuring that we can accommodate their specific needs while always maintaining our ratios. By following these criteria, we strive to create an equitable and supportive environment for all families seeking our services. After your tour, we’ll add you to our waiting list to keep you updated when a space opens. You're not alone in this process, we're here to help!

Why does our licence say Group Child Care and not Preschool?
When we completed our expansion, we carefully considered changing the licence for these classrooms to Preschool. After reviewing our program, facilities, and staffing, we chose to remain licensed as Group Child Care. This option allows us to provide an even more comprehensive experience for children and families.
-
How do teacher-to-child ratios work at Choo Choo Let’s Go!?
Our licence requires 1 teacher for every 8 children, with up to 3 teachers per class. This means smaller group sizes, more support, and greater individual attention for every child. A standard preschool licence requires 1 teacher for every 10 children, with a maximum group size of 20.
-
How does the schedule work at Choo Choo Let’s Go!?
Our licence allows us to be open for longer hours than traditional preschools. This not only helps children adjust to a Kindergarten-style routine, but also provides families with greater flexibility to balance work and daily life. A standard preschool licence allows programs to operate for only 4 hours per day.
